Canadian comedian and former talk show host Mike Bullard has passed away at the age of 67. His family confirmed to Global News that he was found deceased, reportedly from a suspected heart attack.

Bullard began his comedy career performing live stand-up at comedy clubs throughout Ontario, eventually transitioning to television following his success in stand-up.

He rose to fame in 1997 as the host of the late-night talk show Open Mike With Mike Bullard on CTV, which he helmed until 2003. At that point, he was recruited by Global Television to host The Mike Bullard Show, though that program ran for only 13 weeks.

Following the cancellation of his television show, Bullard shifted his focus to radio. After a few short-lived shows and a brief return to TV, he found success as the host of Beyond The Mic with Mike Bullard on Newstalk 1010 in Toronto, where he remained from 2010 to 2016.

He departed Newstalk 1010 after he was charged with criminal harassment of a former romantic partner. In 2018, Bullard pleaded guilty to one count of harassing communication.

Throughout his career, Bullard earned two Gemini Awards for his show Open Mike With Mike Bullard. In 2013, he was honored with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his volunteer efforts. In 2022, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Bullard traveled to the country to volunteer with humanitarian organizations.
